Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today announced his selections for
leadership of the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee (ICOC) which
oversees the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine created by
the passage of Proposition 71. The proposition, supported by the
Governor, was approved by voters in November and will fund stem cell
research that may offer cures for ailments ranging from Alzheimers
disease to diabetes and cancer.The Governor announced his nomination of Robert Klein for chairman and
Edward Penhoet for vice chairman of the ICOC.
