This Colloquim is intended to offer participants an opportunity to engage in a sustained discussion on a variety of bioethical themes. With a maximum of 25 participants, there will be ample time to discuss all the papers submitted by participants extensively. Indeed, the academic program of the Colloquium will be created based on the submissions by the participants. Presentation may cover a completed bioethics project but also a “work-in-progress” (such as an article, master thesis or doctoral dissertation) that can benefit from peer feedback.

The 2024 keynote speaker is Henk ten Have, MD, PhD, former Director and Professor Emeritus of Healthcare Ethics at Duquesne University (USA) and Research Professor at the Faculty of Bioethics of Anahuac University (Mexico). Ten Have has published extensively on the theme of global bioethics and this will also be the focus of his keynote presentation.

While the Colloquium will provide plenty of food for thought, there will also be ample time for shared meals with a nice glass of wine, relaxation in the beautiful surroundings, and cultural enrichment. The seminar will be held at the former abbey of Rochefort-du-Gard in the Provence Occitane near Avignon, which dates back to the time of Charlemagne.
