The Department of Social and Preventive Medicine (DMSP) in the School of Public Health at the Université de Montréal (ESPUM) is recruiting for a position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor for a teaching and research career in Bioethics. Priority areas include, but are not limited to: ethics of health services and health technologies, responsible conduct in research and research ethics, public health ethics and health policy.

What you’ll need to succeed
• A PhD in bioethics or a related discipline;
• Expertise in one or more fields of bioethics, including the ethics of health services and health technologies, responsible conduct in research and research ethics, public health ethics and
health policy;
• Demonstrate knowledge of theories and methods relevant to bioethics;
• Demonstrate the ability to teach bioethics to a variety of audiences;
• Demonstrate the potential to supervise graduate students;
• Demonstrate an ability to conduct high-level research focused on bioethics analysis or
intervention;
• Demonstrate the potential to develop local, national and international collaborations;
• Have sufficient knowledge of the French language or be determined to learn it once in the
position via the French language support program offered by UdeM, in accordance with the
Language Policy of the Université de Montréal.

• Copies of three recent publications or research papers;
• A 5-year research plan (2 pages);
• A summary of your approach to teaching, supervision philosophy and your relevant experience
(1 page);
• An academic CV (training, scholarships and awards, research grants, scientific publications,
teaching and mentoring activities, knowledge transfer activities, etc.);
• The contact details of three referees who will be contacted to obtain a letter of recommendation.
