I was actually very surprised when I saw this survey that Alta Charo unearthed on the Dong-A Ilbo (donga.com) business pages. According to the relative large poll of Korean “biotechnology researchers” conducted yesterday by a science survey group commissioned by Dong-A Ilbo, a Korean daily paper,

About 46 percent of respondents (440 people) said they did not know about the Helsinki Declaration, while 39 percent (374 people) answered that they have heard about the declaration but did not know what it is.

Approximately 42 percent (402 people) said they are not aware of the Institutional Review Board which investigated into possible ethical problems of Hwang Woo-seok? team at the College of Veterinary Medicine of Seoul National University.
