When he’s not changing the face of U.S health policy or being a provocateur in the academic literature, can you guess what Ezekiel Emanuel is doing in his down time?
Apparently, more often than not, being a foodie. According to a recent profile in Politico, called “Cooking with Zeke Emanuel”, Zeke is spending his off hours (those few ones that he has!) engaging in dinner bets with Supreme Court Justices, arranging teatime at OMB, and baking banana cake. (And clearly enjoying it, by the looks of this photo!)
To put it in a nutshell, Zeke is showing us the sweeter side of bioethics….and it sounds good!
How about for your next book, Zeke, forget the R-word, health reform or debates with Art Caplan over whether there are too many number crunchers in bioethics, and pen us a cross between an Anthony Bordain stream of consciousness set of food and personality reviews and a tome of Emanuel’s favorite recipes? That’s something that all of us could truly sink our teeth into!
