Mayo Clinic seeks a MA/BA-level research coordinator/analyst for empirical studies and conceptual bioethics work.
Position description: The incumbent will serve as a study coordinator/research analyst for biomedical ethics faculty at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Research projects will encompass both empirical studies and bioethics work that is more conceptual in nature. Studies focus on ethical issues of new technologies, with a particular emphasis on genomics & individualized medicine. Experience in empirical bioethics research using survey methodologies is highly desirable.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor degree including substantial coursework in bioethics or health-related social sciences (psychology, medical sociology, medical anthropology, or public health). Research experience demonstrating either strong qualitative and/or quantitative background.
Other Qualifications: Experience in empirical bioethics research using survey methodologies is highly desirable. Experience with previous research projects with quantitative and/or qualitative focus. Competent to work independently in most phases of research analysis, requiring only general instructions and direction. Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and research methodology. Able to think logically and to systematically analyze alternative solutions in problem solving. Knowledgeable about a current health care delivery environment. Demonstrated interest in bioethics. Master’s degree in relevant field (medical anthropology, bioethics, public health) desirable.
