Boston Children’s Hospital Pediatric Ethics Fellowship

The Center for Pediatric Bioethics at Boston Children’s Hospital is pleased to invite
applications for its Pediatric Ethics Fellowship Program, starting July 1, 2027.

Program Overview:
This rigorous program is designed to equip fellows with the skills necessary to:
independently provide high-quality pediatric clinical ethics consultations, educate learners
and interprofessional teams in pediatric ethics, assume leadership roles within hospital ethics
programs, and advance ethics scholarship and research. This fellowship is intended to foster
the next generation of pediatric ethics leaders.

We offer both 1-year and 2-year fellowship options, with the 2-year program focusing on
advanced scholarship/research, leadership, or subspecialty concentration (e.g., palliative care,
neonatology, transplant ethics, research ethics, etc.) during the second year.

Eligibility:
Applicants should hold an advanced degree in a pertinent field, such as healthcare ethics,
medicine, nursing, law, or related disciplines. Candidates must demonstrate a strong
commitment to developing expertise in pediatric ethics.

Funding and Compensation:
Competitive salary, commensurate with level of training per hospital guidelines.
Internal clinical Fellows may be eligible for inter-departmental arrangements.

Application Requirements:
Complete the application form and upload the following:
o Letter of Interest (1 page) outlining experience and interest in pediatric ethics,
research, and career goals
o Curriculum Vitae (CV)
o Two letters of recommendation, including one from your Division Chief or Fellowship
Program Director, indicating support

Deadline:
Applications must be submitted by 5p EST on December 1, 2026. Applicants will be notified
by February 15, 2027.
