The Division of Ethics in the Department of Medical Humanities and Ethics is pleased to invite applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow whose research focuses on health equity and the ethical and social dimensions of emerging technologies (eg, artificial intelligence, machine learning, genomics, precision medicine, neurotechnologies). We are particularly interested in scholars engaging in innovative and interdisciplinary research at the intersections of team science, social justice, and translational science, and who have a strong foundation in empirical research methods. We encourage scholars who are underrepresented in academic medicine and who center the experiences of historically marginalized communities, including black, indigenous, and people of color.
The Postdoctoral Fellow will work with Ethics Division Chief Sandra Soo-Jin Lee on research at the intersection of team science and ethics, including a multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional study of equitable and ethical collaboration in genomics and precision medicine funded by the National Science Foundation. The fellow will have teaching opportunities depending on expertise. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. This one-year fellowship is eligible for renewal for a second year. Start date to be negotiated.
Review of applications will begin December 1, 2022. To apply please submit:
• Personal Statement (max 4 pages) explaining your scholarly work in health equity, interest and experience in team science and/or bioethics, approach to teaching, and how the fellowship would advance your career goals.
• CV
• Copy of Graduate Transcript(s)
• Writing Sample
• Three letters of reference
