I am not a fan of administrative speak. Too much correspondence these days ends with the ubiquitous phrase: “If you have any questions or concerns, please contact…” The phrase has lost its meaning. It’s just a salutation now, the way “sincerely yours” once was. I have even seen it on signs taped to elevators being repaired and on boxes of cake mix. On a recent flight I saw it in an airline magazine’s letter from its CEO. I thought to myself, “Yes, I have many questions and even more concerns for you regarding the current state of airline travel!” What does any of that have to do with this journal? Well, who knew we would have such a myriad of questions and concerns on the use and misuse of neuroimaging? This very special issue of AJOB Neuroscience addresses the intersection of neuroradiology, ethics, and law. It raises, and subsequently answers, these timely and important questions. Contributions by experts featured in this issue share a common theme–the expert witness neuroradiologist in the courtroom.
