WHAT MAKES OUR FELLOWSHIP STAND OUT?
We provide fellows with a year-long, multifaceted, and comprehensive training experience focused exclusively on pediatric ethics. Fellows will participate in all clinical, educational, and research activities of the Children's Mercy Bioethics Center, including a mentored research project. Additionally, fellows will have opportunities to collaborate with our many clinical and research partners across Children's Mercy Kansas City, including the Ethics Committee, Palliative Care Service, Nursing Ethics Forum, Genomic Medicine Center, Fetal Health Center, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and more.

In difficult situations, emotions often run high as pediatricians, children and parents may disagree about what is best for a child. Sometimes, everybody is simply perplexed. Doctors and families need help to understand the source of conflicts and work constructively to resolve disagreements for the best care of the child.
