## Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer to design, train, deploy, and optimize machine learning systems that power our real-time AI copilot. You will work across the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data preparation and model development to deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys turning cutting-edge AI research into scalable production systems that impact millions of users.
## Key Responsibilities
### Machine Learning & Model Development
* Develop, train, and fine-tune large language models (LLMs), NLP systems, and speech models.
* Implement advanced fine-tuning techniques such as LoRA, QLoRA, RLHF, and DPO.
* Build and maintain high-quality training datasets and data pipelines.
* Conduct experiments and evaluate model performance to drive continuous improvements.
### Real-Time AI Infrastructure
* Build low-latency inference systems for real-time AI applications.
* Optimize model serving through quantization, batching, caching, and streaming.
* Deploy ML systems using Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
* Integrate and orchestrate multiple AI providers and open-source models.
### RAG & Intelligent Systems
* Design Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
* Implement vector database integrations and embedding pipelines.
* Develop advanced prompt engineering workflows and conversational AI systems.
* Build agentic AI capabilities using tools, function calling, and reasoning frameworks.
### Evaluation & Monitoring
* Create automated evaluation frameworks and benchmarking systems.
* Monitor latency, response quality, hallucination rates, and user satisfaction.
* Implement model drift detection and performance monitoring.
* Optimize AI infrastructure costs and resource utilization.
### Responsible AI
* Implement AI safety measures and content moderation systems.
* Evaluate model fairness, robustness, and reliability.
* Ensure privacy-focused AI development practices.
* Promote ethical AI standards across the organization.
## Required Qualifications
### Experience
* 3+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning systems.
* Proven experience delivering AI products from concept to production.
* Experience collaborating across engineering, product, and business teams.
* Startup or high-growth company experience preferred.
### Technical Skills
* Strong Python programming skills.
* Experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, JAX, or similar ML frameworks.
* Deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals and transformer architectures.
* Experience with LLM platforms such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models.
* Knowledge of vector databases including Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, or ChromaDB.
* Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, FastAPI, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
### Education
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
* Equivalent practical experience is highly valued.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Experience building real-time AI systems.
* Knowledge of model compression, quantization, and efficient inference.
* Experience with AI agents and autonomous workflows.
* Familiarity with AI security and safety testing.
* Experience supporting products with 100K+ users.
* Contributions to open-source AI projects or published research.
* Previous startup experience.
