This seminar is intended to offer participants an opportunity to engage in a sustained discussion on bioethical themes. With a maximum of 25 participants, there will be ample time to discuss all the papers submitted by participants extensively. Indeed, the academic program of the colloquium will be created based on the submissions by the participants. Each participant is encouraged to prepare a presentation which may cover a completed bioethics project or a “work-in-progress” that can benefit from peer feedback. The 2023 keynote lecturer is Urban Wiesing, MD, PhD, professor of medical ethics and director of the Institute for Ethics and History of Medicine at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen. His work focuses on philosophy and medicine, ethical aspects of modern technologies in medicine, and the history of medicine. While the Colloquium will provide plenty of food for thought, there will also be ample time for shared meals with a nice glass of wine, relaxation in the beautiful surroundings, and cultural enrichment.
