Description:
The Bioethics Coordinators are Bioethics healthcare professionals who are recognized within the specialty area, as well as system-wide, as being proficient in the delivery of complicated patient care. This is validated through the acquisition of national certification in the appropriate specialty area within three to five years. The Director of Bioethics and Medical Director for Bioethics and Palliative Care will oversee the daily functions of the Bioethics and Patient Rights Coordinators in fulfillment of her/his job responsibilities as specified in this job description. The Coordinators will have a matrix of reporting relationship to the Patient Care Leadership Council. The Coordinators will oversee ethics consultation services, ethics education programs, implementation of policies regarding patient‘s rights and responsibilities, advance directives, and organ donation for assigned entities/facilities. The Coordinators serve as a role model and promote a professional image and encourage professional and personal growth of staff. Administratively, the Bioethics Coordinators are responsible for data collection and analysis and reporting mechanisms and communication methodologies (across service lines) for assigned/entities/facilities.

Qualifications:
Degrees: Masters
Additional Qualifications: RN Registered Nurse, or Masters/Ph.D of Bioethics. Master‘s of Nursing OR Masters/Ph.D. degree in Bioethics and clinical experience preferred. At least three years of acute care experience. Education and experience in dealing with death and dying grief, loss, bereavement and medical ethics. Excellent interpersonal skills, team building skills, collaboration, and negotiation skills. Familiarity in developing hospital policies. Minimum Required Experience:
