Wake Forest University School of Medicine is seeking a national leader as our new Endowed Chair of Bioethics at a time of tremendous growth for our medical school and academic learning health system.
KEY FUNCTIONS
• Oversees and leads a team responsible for the ethics consultation service and clinical ethics activities
• Provides guidance on our current clinical ethics curriculum and assists in the development of the curriculum for our new medical school campus in Charlotte, North Carolina
• Helps to develop a research agenda in ethics that dovetails with our focus on the academic learning health system and connects with departmental research programs across our medical school
• Chairs our Clinical Ethics Committee and serves on relevant subcommittees
• Assists with teaching medical students, residents, graduate students, fellows or staff

The Wake Forest University Center for Bioethics, Health, and Society is a collaborative intellectual space for addressing ethical, social, and policy issues of importance for biotechnology, health care, biomedical research, and public health. The Center brings together faculty, students, and staff from all disciplines across all WFU campuses and schools, and engages academic and public stakeholders locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally to advance research, education, and communication about bioethics issues. Wake Forest University’s Bioethics Graduate Program equips graduates to practice, teach, and conduct research about bioethics, and is an excellent complement to other advanced degrees.
